Issue Number 1: Cleaning up the trash
When I was a child, we could pay for almost all of our basic needs such as movies, comic books and candy by picking up pop bottles and turning them in for 2 cents each. 2 cents in 1950 is the equivalent of 25 cents today. There should definitely be a .25 cent deposit on all plastic bottles and .20 cents on all glass and aluminum cans and bottles. The payoff (taxpayer supported) should be 5 cents for each existing can or bottle until the deposits on the new containers clicks in.
Within 30 days, literally millions upon millions of discarded bottles and cans will have been picked up and re-cycled at much less cost than paying hords of illegals to cross the border to pick up trash along out highways and byways.
